Presenting the audio-visual project "The City is a Body" which discusses COVID-19 disparities in San Francisco. This project is a visual reflection of compiled data and an interview conducted with Dr. Kirsten Bibbins-Domingo, Professor and Chair of the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at the University of California, San Francisco, discussing different communities disproportionally affected by COVID-19, and factors that led to disparities in infections and deaths through animation and data visualization.
This will also be an opportunity to reflect on the experience as the inaugural UCSF Library Artist in Residence, recapping some of the workshops and collaborative projects over the last year, and discussing some of the challenges of creating art and being present during the COVID-19 pandemic.
See the workshop registration page on the UCSF Library Calendar.
Presented by Farah Hamade, UCSF Library's current Artist in Residence. To learn more about the Artist in Residence program, visit the UCSF Library website.
